Mexican Hot Chocolate with Dates

Mexican Hot Chocolate with Dates


  • 2 Cups of Milk or Dairy Free Beverage of Choice
  • 6 Natural Delights Pitted Medjool Dates
  • 1 Tbsp of Cacao Powder
  • ¼ Tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tsp of Cinnamon
  • ¼ Tsp of Chili Powder (I used Arbol Chili Powder)
  • Whipped Cream and sprinkled cocoa powder and cinnamon stick or your favourite toppings!


  1. In a medium pot, add milk and dates and simmer until milk is hot and slightly bubbling.
  2. Transfer milk and dates to high-speed blender and add, cacao powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and chili powder and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into mug and top with a cinnamon stick and your favourite toppings!
